Entry: Popcorn Monday, July 12, 2004

Interesting day. It started off at about 6 this morning (ITS TOO DAMN EARLY!!!!) when I got up to go to my first day of Kaleidoscope (the camp where I work) for the year. Got there about 7:15 and popped popcorn for the next hour and a half, and then went to play with little kids. They're fun, but they get slightly old after a while. Did that basically all day. My class in the afternoon is wicked fun. The instructor's name is Mr. Biafore (bee-uh-four-ee), and he is hilarious. Just picture this big, thin Italian guy with a slight accent and a booming voice that repeats everything he says three times (phrased slightly differently each time). He possibly has the best lauguage tic I have ever heard.

Anyway, the rest of the day went by, and when I got home, I was so tired that I promptly fell asleep on the couch for an hour (despite the fact that the TV was on and both my parents were downstairs talking). What I found out when I woke up, though, was that I was talking in my sleep.

Now, every day in extended day, I end up playing board games, and today's was Clue. This would have been fun, except I ended up playing with 2 5-year-olds who had no idea how to play. But, I have to be positive, so when they would play "by their own rules," I could only congratulate them on their "unique approach" to the game. Actually, since I work with little kids most of the day, I end up enthusiastically saying some variant of "Good job!" every 3 seconds.

Anyway, in my sleep, I was asking my parents, "Do you want to play Clue or Monopoly?" and "It's your turn." At that point, my mom decided to toy around with me and asked if she did a good job, to which I responded, "You did a good job!" Wow. One DAY at Kaleidoscope and the little kids have already traumatized me. I know not how I'm gonna survive two weeks.

On a completely different note: Avenue Q may have the funniest songs of any musical ever. I was cracking up just watching the video clips from the show. My personal favorite is "The Internet is for Porn":

-The internet is for porn!
-Noooo
-The internet if for porn!
-Trekkie
-Me up all night honking me horn to porn, porn, porn!

-That’s gross you’re a pervert
-Ah, sticks and stones Kate monster
-NO really, your a pervert
Normal people don’t sit at home and look
At porn on the internet
-Ohhhh?
-What?!
-You have no idea
Ready normal people?
-Ready--- ready ----ready
-Let me hear it!

-The internet is for porn!
-Sorry kate
-The internet is for porn!
-I masturbate!
-All these guys unzip their flies
For porn, porn, porn!

Haha...good song. And with those thought provoking lyrics, I'm going to go to sleep, to prepare myself for another fun-filled day.
